RAF Coningsby "Fightertown" on the 7th and 8th May 2009

A couple of days spent at the UK's most active airbase, RAF Coningsby.

This was only my second ever visit to the base, the flying was non-stop with, at one point,

over 20 Typhoons airborne at one time.

 

This section contains around 250 images taken over the 2 days including RAF Coningsby based

Eurofighter Typhoons and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight's Chipmunk and Hawker Hurricane plus

Shorts Tucanos, a Beech B200 Kingair and a couple of Tornado GR4's.

I was also fortunate to see the display Eurofighter Typhoon practicing for the 2009 airshow season.

I love this Airbase because it's so busy, I wish I could visit much more often :
